“President Obama, Reparations and Chief John Willie Peoples”
by refixico
There is a “Grassroots Movement”, to request that President Barack Obama, recognizes, the call for Reparations, by presenting, Activist John Willie Peoples, with a Lifetime Achievement Award. I am a Private-Sector Partner for the National Underground Railroad/Network to Freedom 1998 Act, therefore, I am bound to promote, President Obama’s, already in place, policy of “Reconciliation”, as is evidenced by the Cobell and Pigford settlements, both of which, are currently taking place under President Obama’s Administration.
As the founder of the Semiroon Historical Society, I do have a verbal “Cultural Alliance”, with the (Compton,Ca. based) Reparations group, that Mr. Peoples is associated with. Chief John Willie Peoples, who is a Black Nottaway-Nanseman Indian, was in agreement with this relationship when, I announced it , on Mr. Stevie Wonder’s “Frontpage” Radio show, 2 years ago. I am , in favor of the award for Chief Peoples, because, I believe that, President Barack Obama’s recognition, of his right to pursue Reparations, could be a catalyst to begin the “Cultural Renaissance”, that I have described in my article, entitled:”The Era of BlacK Indian Transcendance”. The upcoming renaissance of, which I speak, would be similar to the “Harlem Renaissance”, except , instead of using the , “New Negro” as the protagonist, the country would use the “African Native American” as described by the Smithsonian Institution’s, book and exhibit, entitled : “indiVisible”: African-Native American Lives in the Americas and author, Wm. L. Katz’s book ,entitled: “Black Indians”.

Greeting, from Sergeant First Class (retired) Charles Davis JROTC instructor at Inglewood High School. Last year I invited Mr. Peoples to speak and bring in the slave ship to our high school, he agreed. Mr. Peoples brought in the slave ship as promised, but the knowledge, history and his story telling methods had our students spell bound! Where they wanted to hear more about how and where they fit into our history. Mr. Peoples and guest telling them history the students had never heard. Our program was held in the small gym, as word of this event spread around the school campus, the small gym was packed with students of color learning their history. It was totally beautiful watching our school come together and beginning to understand where we all fit in this world of ours! Black, Brown , Yellow and White coming together as one learning their history, instead of black history he taught them the history of people of color!
I do believe he should be recognizes for his achievements on the “Call to Reparations”. He’s a warrior on a mission, weather you believe in his call or not lets give credit to his dedication, to his call. Chief Peoples, is a leader, an educator, and have been on his mission a long time, he deserve a little light!
Mr. Peoples is returning this year to speak, and the LARGE gym is already standing room only!
Thank you, Sgt. Davis, for what you have done and are doing for the community. I’m proud to have been a part, of the event at Inglewood, High School, in Inglewood ,Ca., that featured Chief John Willie Peoples and the “Slave Ship”. Every word that you said is TRUE !!! My dream is that ,when the Movie is made , that it be, a Dramedy ( Drama/Comedy/Action Film ), It should star Mr. Denzel Washington as Chief John Willie Peoples, Mr. Samuel Jackson should play, Sgt Charles Davis, Ms. Halle Berry should portray “Dr. Queen Mother Mollie Bell”, Mr. Blair Underwood should play Professor Charles Ogletree and Ms. Phylicia Rashad should portray Juliette Porter Mitchell (Chief Peoples’ cousin) . The movie would be entitled: “REPARATIONS” a Dramedy. There is already a “Hollywood Buzz”. It’s true that Compton, Ca. was the birthplace of Chief John Willie Peoples Reparations Movement, however, after what took place in Inglewood ,”America’s City of Champions”, we must consider all the world-class venues and amenities that Inglewood is bringing to the table.
